Teen girl shot in leg while inside Long Island home

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A teenager was shot while inside a Long Island home early Tuesday, officials said.

Several gunshots were fired from outside the Huntington Station home striking the 19-year-old girl in the leg by a bullet around 12:45 a.m. on the first floor, authorities said.

Officials said it was unclear whether the victim was the intended target, but the shots fired were in the direction of the house.

It was unclear what caused the gunfire.

The victim was taken to an area hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

No other injuries were reported.

There were no arrests made an investigation remains ongoing.
