NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police announced Friday they had arrested a teen accused of stealing a car with a 1-year-old inside in Brooklyn.

Quansae Herring, 17, of Brooklyn was charged with grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and acting in a manner injurious to a child on Thursday, police said.

Herring is accused of stealing a white Mitsubishi SUV that a 29-year-old mother left running outside a store with her one-year-old son, Sincere Gilchrist, inside in Crown Heights on Aug. 5.

Police allege Herring jumped in and took off on Kingston Avenue.

The SUV was found about a mile away outside Park Place and Ralph Avenue a couple of hours later with the unharmed Gilchrist still inside, after an Amber Alert was issued.
