NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 65-year-old taxi driver was killed Sunday night when his own cab ran him over after he leapt out to chase a passenger who robbed him, police say.

Mohammed Zafrullah was robbed by a passenger in the Soundview section of the Bronx at around 11:40 p.m, according to authorities..

He jumped out of his cab and started chasing the robber, but didn’t put his car in park.

The car rolled and ran over him before smashing into a parked car.

Zafrullah died of his injuries.

Police are hunting for the robber.

The New York Federation of Taxi Drivers is offering a reward, which they will announce Tuesday.
