NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are still searching for two suspects in connection to a Brooklyn shooting that left a 16-year-old dead.

The incident happened at around 4 p.m. at the Chester Playground in the Brownsville section of the borough on Friday.

Olowutimi Oybula, from Jamaica, was playing basketball inside the area when a shooting broke out nearby.

Police said two shots were fired and one struck the teen in the head. Investigators do not believe he was the intended target.

“For all intents and purposes, he was a really, really good kid. This is a very, very unfortunate act,” NYPD Deputy Chief Michael Kemper.

Oybula’s father told CBS2 his son was doing really well in school and was hoping to become a doctor or an engineer.

“I just need an answer. I need an answer,” David Oybula said.

Two suspects we spotted on Chester Street fleeing the scene.
