NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Supporters of a Guatemalan woman have rallied around her as she seeks refuge at the historic Fourth Universalist Society on the Upper West Side.

Aura Hernandez, 37, arrived at the church more than two weeks ago to avoid immigration authorities and deportation.

Speaking through a translator, Hernandez said she will fight not to be separated from her two children who were born in the U.S.

"I want to raise my voice, raise my voice because my children which are the future, cannot do so," she said.

Hernandez came to the U.S. in 2005. The Daily News said she reported to ICE regularly, but was recently told that she would have to return to Guatemala. ICE considers her a fugitive.
