Cops: Drunk Crane Operator Damaged 4 Cars On The LIE

July 11, 2018 - 9:31 am

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The driver of a crane is in a heap of trouble in Suffolk County.

Authorities say 47-year-old Brian Sinclair of Riverhead struck four cars on the Long Island Expressway in Ronkonkoma and kept going. Some of the drivers suffered minor injuries.

Sinclair was spotted driving erratically near Exit 60 where a highway patrol officer managed to climb into the passenger compartment and ordered the driver to stop.

Officer Joseph Goss sustained minor injuries.

"He had both hands on the wheel still, I got him with my service weapon and told him to put it in park, and the only thing he said to me the entire time was 'what's up," Goss said.

What's up? Sinclair was allegedly drunk while operating a 30 ton crane with tires the size of a Toyota Prius.

Sinclair has been charged with DWI and leaving the scene of an accident.
