Subway surfer severs foot after falling from moving train in Brooklyn: police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A subway surfer had his foot severed after he fell off a train platform around midnight on Wednesday, officials say.

Police say the 32-year-old man was riding on top of a Manhattan-bound J train when he lost his balance near the Myrtle Ave./Broadway stop.

He fell onto the roadbed where his right foot was run over by the train, according to several reports.

He was transported to Elmhurst Hospital to be treated and is expected to survive.
