Subway dispute leaves man with fractured skull, brain swelling, suspect sought: NYPD

NYPD
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a suspect in connection to an assault then say landed a man in the hospital with a fractured skull and swelling of the brain.
Inside the 34th Street/8th Avenue Subway station on October 13, at approximately 12:30 a.m., police say a 28-year-old male victim was involved in a verbal dispute with an the suspect.
During the dispute, the suspect walked up to the victim, punching him in the face and knocking him to the ground.
The victim subsequently struck his head on a handrail, rendering him unconscious, police say.
The suspect fled the scene in unknown direction.
The victim was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, NY by private means where officials say he was admitted for a fractured skull and swelling on the brain.
Police urge anyone with information to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-8477.
