NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The president might need to hire a new phone screener.

The White House confirmed Friday that comedian John Melendez, who has made frequent appearances as Stuttering John on the Howard Stern Show, duped the Commander in Chief into thinking he was New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez, 1010 WINS reported.

In a recording of the call, President Donald Trump tells Melendez that he'll decide who he'll nominate to replace Anthony Kennedy on the Supreme Court in 'the next couple weeks.'

Melendez, speaking with his Long Island accent and who never identified himself as Menendez, told Trump that he'd support a nominee who wasn't too far to the right. Trump is heard replying, 'We will talk about it.'

Trump also congratulated Melendez for going through a 'tough, tough situation,' alluding to a federal corruption trial that Sen. Menendez faced earlier this year.
