NEW YORK (1010 WINS) Some students at a Long Island high school are refusing to come to school because they say the place smells like dead rats reports WABC.

The principal at Deer Park High School says exterminators were at the school during spring break after rodents were found in the building, and the school is trying to provide as much ventilation as possible and to remedy the unpleasant odor.

A petition calling for the school to be closed now has 1,800 signatures.
