NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A Staten Island woman who recently found a lost dog and helped reunite it with its owner is hoping someone will do the same now that her dog was stolen.

She says surveillance video shows someone taking her dog, Nugget, from the steps of her house on Zoe Street in the Dongan Hills neighborhood Thursday afternoon.

The video shows someone petting the dog before picking him up and fleeing.

The woman, Dana, told the Staten Island Advance that her husband closed the door not realizing Nugget was outside.

It didn’t take long before someone snatched the pup, and now Dana is very worried about his wellbeing.

“It’s devastating," she told the Advance. “My kids are very upset, both were crying.”

Just a few days ago, Dana says she found a lost little dog at a deli nearby and kept it overnight until she located the grateful owner.

A day later, her dog was gone.
