NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — State police on Monday night pulled over a livery van near the Battery Tunnel.

When they ran the plates, they realized the Pennsylvania plates were stolen.

Authorities say driver 30-year-old Calvin Alexander refused to surrender, locking the doors and rolling up the windows for an hour.

He did allow out a female victim, who had gotten into the van thinking it was a livery service.

She told police later she had felt frightened in the van and told the driver several times to stop, but he locked her in.

Police eventually smashed the windows to grab him, and arrested him.

He was charged with unlawful imprisonment, resisting arrest and possession of stolen property.

He was also facing separate charges for violating an order of protection by phoning and texting an ex-girlfriend in 2017.
