Spirit cancels all NY, NJ, CT flights after CDC warning

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Spirit Airlines on Monday said it will be canceling all flights to and from New York, Connecticut and New Jersey, following a CDC travel advisory for the trio of states over the coronavirus pandemic. 

The low-cost carrier is the first major carrier to cancel outright all of its flights to the region. 

Service to these airports will be suspended mid-week, the airline said:

-La Guardia


-Hartford, Conn.

-Niagara Falls, N.Y.

-Plattsburgh, N.Y. 

Spirit is the fifth largest carrier at La Guardia and Newark.
