Special Delivery: Port Authority Police Officers Help Deliver Baby At Lincoln Tunnel

April 23, 2018 - 4:13 pm

NEW YORK (1010 WINS)  -- This baby just couldn't wait to be born.

A woman gave birth outside of the Lincoln Tunnel Monday morning with the help of a few Port Authority police officers.

Officers Krystal Armenti and Dana Fuller arrived at the scene at around 7:30 a.m. and helped deliver the baby. "Got the blanket, got clamps ... anything we needed and then low and behold and all of a sudden that baby pops out," said Fuller.

Officer Catherine Conant was next to arrive. This was Conant's second delivery so she was called in to help."Oh you've done this before so get in here," she said her fellow officers told her.

"I never thought I was going to deliver in the taxi or the car," said the baby's mother.

The officers visited the newborn baby, mom and dad at Hoboken University Medical Center and are all doing well, Al Jones reported.
