Burst of snow Wednesday, expect a messy morning commute

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- We're in for a messy morning commute Wednesday, as snow is expected to pound the city and some suburbs. 

A Winter Weather Advisory, issued by the National Weather Service. is in effect until 11 a.m. Wednesday for New York City, Westchester County, Long Island, northern New Jersey and southern Connecticut.

Poor visibility may be one of the biggest issues with the intensity of the snow this morning.

Roads will range from wet to slushy in the city, then from slushy to slippery in the suburbs.

Snow on Wednesday morning will taper off around midday, accumulating a coating to an inch or two, creating poor visibility along with wet and slushy conditions in the city and slushy to slippery roads in many suburbs. 

Wednesday afternoon will be breezy and quite cold with clouds breaking late. High 37. 

Wednesday evening will be brisk and cold, becoming clear. Low 25. 

Looking ahead at Thursday, it will be quite cold despite sunshine. High 35. 

Friday will be mainly cloudy and milder. High 48.
