NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – The city has issued a Snow Alert ahead of two rounds of snow coming Sunday and again Monday night into Tuesday.

The Snow Alert starts at 6 p.m. Sunday, the Department of Sanitation says. During the alert, the Sanitation Department will coordinate with the Office of Emergency Management and Department of Transportation.

There's also a Code Blue in the city this weekend amid dangerously cold conditions; RealFeel temperatures will drop to the single-digits Saturday night.

AccuWeather says the snow arrives late Sunday. A coating to 1 inch of snow is expected in the city by Monday.

The overnight snowfall could lead to slippery conditions on roads Monday morning.

Snow Monday

A more potent storm works its way into the Tri-State late Monday into Tuesday.

AccuWeather says our area could see 1 to 3 inches before it’s all over Tuesday evening.

Although the snow should change over to rain in the city Tuesday, colder areas north and west of the city could see prolonged periods of icing, AccuWeather says.
