'The Situation' released from prison after 8 months of 2-year sentence

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Michael "The Situation" Sorrentino was released from an upstate New York federal prison on Thursday, after serving 8 months of a 2-year sentence for tax evasion TMZ reports.

“We are elated to finally close this chapter of our life. Thank you to our family, friends and fans for the continuous love and support during this time, it brought us so much peace and comfort,” Sorrentino told Page Six in a statement. “We look forward to continuing our life as husband and wife and working on baby situations!

The "Jersey Shore" star, 38, and his brother Marc, 40, were charged in 2014 with several tax offenses. "The Situation" pleaded guilty to one count of tax evasion in January 2018.

The reality TV star reported to the prison in Otisville in January. 

His fellow inmates included former Donald Trump lawyer Michael Cohen and Fyre Festival founder Billy McFarland.
