NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Showers will move into the Tri-State early Tuesday, ushering in days of stormy weather and a threat of flooding in some areas.

The rain arrives Monday night and continues into Tuesday, AccuWeather says. Heavy downpours and even thunderstorms are possible throughout the day.

Rain 2

Tuesday’s scattered showers could lead to ponding on roads and in areas with poor drainage. It will otherwise be cloudy and humid with a high of 74, according to AccuWeather.

The sticky, cloudy weather continues Wednesday. It should be drier than Tuesday, but a spotty shower or storm is possible, AccuWeather says. The high is 74.

Rain 3

The threat of thunderstorms returns Thursday, especially in the afternoon, according to AccuWeather. The high will be 77.

There could be a couple of showers Friday morning as temperatures approach 80.

The weather then dries out for the weekend, when temps will reach the upper 70s.

AccuWeather says the wet weather pattern is caused by a series of storms moving eastward. Drenching rain is especially likely Upstate and in parts of New England through the workweek.
