Shots fired during Bronx HS basketball game, gunman sought by NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a gunman that shot several rounds inside a Bronx gym during a High School basketball game Monday night. 

Officials say at approximately 5:30 p.m. Putnam Science was playing against Our Savior Lutheran at Gauchos Gym in the Mott Haven section when the shooting began.

The created a chaotic environment and the gunman fled the scene, officials say.

“Everybody just bum-rushed out. People were trampling over me. My sisters are traumatized right now, witness Channell Osorio told CBS 2

“I see this guy in all black with a gun and he’s moving in the back in the middle of the court and he’s firing into the crowd of people on the bleachers,” Osorio added.

Authorities say no one was hurt during the shooting, but they are now searching for the shooter.
