She Maid A Mess: Customers say drunk housekeeper has been trashing homes

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Customers say a local maid is better at making a mess than she is at cleaning up.

Last week, 1010 WINS reported that a Brooklyn woman hired a maid from a cleaning service, only to find the maid passed out drunk on the floor after allegedly raiding her liquor cabinet. Not only was the maid smashed, but so were a number of items in the apartment.

It turns out this wasn't the first time she had allegedly pulled that stunt.

Nicholas Gomes told the New York Post that he hired Joanna Oltuszewska to clean his Kips Bay apartment, but came home to find her passed out on the floor with no pants on. Nearby were two smashed Mac Books belonging to Gomes. He says the maid told him her boyfriend came over and assaulted her, but security video showed that nobody else had been in the apartment -- it was also apparent that she had gotten into his blackberry brandy.

Gomes says Oltuszewska pleaded guilty and agreed to pay $2,000 restitution, but he's only gotten $400 so far and gave up on trying to track her down.

It's apparently happened other times too.

A Midwood woman says she hired the maid last January and came back to find Oltuszewska and her apartment totally trashed.

"I noticed the garbage in the hallway on the floor of my building and it smelled terribly and was like, ‘What is that?” Jennifer said. “I went into the apartment and it looked like nothing had been cleaned and a bottle of mostly drunk wine was gone.”

An Upper West Side couple told the Post that Oltuszewska left their home covered in blood and urine, and abdicated her responsibilities save for loading the dishwasher. They also told the Post it's been impossible to track her down to pay for the damage.
