EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ (1010 WINS) -- Jets fans have seen their team's playoff hopes go up in flames, a time or two in the past, but Sunday's fire at the Meadowlands was something else altogether.

Two fires damaged seven vehicles in the parking lot at MetLife Stadium during the Jets' loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

State Trooper Alejandro Goez told NJ.com the fires started when drivers parked on top of hot coals left behind by tailgators.

"Be conscious of where you park, especially when tailgating," Goez said.

Meadowlands firefighters put out both blazes.
