Satellite Images Show North Korea Is Making Improvements To Nuclear Weapons Facility
WASHINGTON (1010 WINS) -- New satellite images show North Korea has made rapid improvements to its nuclear research facility.
Following President Donald Trump’s meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un earlier this month, there had been growing hope for the denuclearization of the country. Though, CNN reports that the opposite may be happening.
Recent photos of North Korea show that many improvements have been made at a nuclear weapons facility, suggesting Kim Jong Un has made no efforts to reduce the country’s nuclear program.
However, some experts say that this doesn’t necessarily mean the North isn’t upholding its pledge to get rid of its nuclear weapons.
In fact, Defense Secretary James Mattis said the fewer U.S.-South Korean military exercises have helped to increase chances for peace with North Korea.
Though, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told lawmakers Wednesday that North Korea still has not returned the remains of any fallen U.S. soldiers who died there during the Korean War.
