Sarah Palin's husband Todd Palin files for divorce: report

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Sarah Palin's husband has pulled the plug on the couple's 31-year-marriage, the Anchorage Daily News reported Monday.

Todd Palin, 55, filed divorce papers on Friday in Anchorage Superior Court, asking for his marriage to the former Alaska governor, also 55 -- and John McCain's running mate in the 2008 presidential election --  to be dissolved, citing an "incompatibility of temperament between the parties such that they find it impossible to live together as husband and wife."

The filing asks for joint legal custody of the the couple's only minor child, Trig. 

Todd Palin's lawyer has asked the court to designate the divorce confidential, going forward. 

Todd Palin initially gained national attention as the macho, outdoorsy other half of Sarah Palin.
