NEW YORK -- It looks like they've got their work cut out for them.

The LIRR's improvement plan involves a list of at least 50 items including faster response times, getting more 21st century technology, and improving customer service.

The railroad's president Patrick Nowakowski admitted the railroad's response during bad weather has been... bad.

"We need to do a better job of rail cleaning, we need to do better training of our train crews and how they operate in inclement weather," he said.

Nowakowski said they'll do their best, but nothing will ever be perfect. One rider didn't seem to have a problem with the admission.

"Just be honest," he said.

Also on the list were increased frequency in rail inspections, better rail cleaning, and communication with riders.
