NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The 51-year-old on-again, off-again boyfriend of Bethenny Frankel, the polarizing star of "The Real Housewives of New York," was found dead Friday morning in Trump Tower from an apparent drug overdose, according to multiple reports.

The New York Post was the first to report Dennis Shields' death.

Shields had asked his assistant around 9. a.m. to give him Narcan, which reverses the effects of an opioid overdose, but he lost consciousness before it kicked in, according to The Post. He was subsequently declared deceased.

1010 WINS has reached out to Frankel's representative for comment.

The status of Frankel and Shields' relationship is unclear. She told daytime talk show host Steve Harvey in May, “I’ve been with someone on and off for years. It’s like a partnership where if we’re not being teammates and it’s not working and one man is down, then the other man is down."

She continued, "We’re trying to really kind of be good partners and be good teammates and I think relationships oddly are — and this sounds cold — but a little bit like business."
