WATCH LIVE: FIREFIGHTERS BATTLE FIRE IN LOS ANGELES

LOS ANGELES (1010 WINS) — A massive fire erupted on the sixth-floor of a 25-story Los Angeles residential building Wednesday morning prompting multiple people to jump out of the building, the Los Angeles Fire Deparment said.

There are also reports that an unspecified number of persons jumped.

"Persons (number undetermined) have reportedly jumped from that or nearby floors," the LAFD tweeted.

Firefighters swarmed the building in the Brentwood neighborhood and people could be seen on the roof as flames and smoke rise from the sixth floor.

Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey says an undetermined number of persons were reported to have jumped from that or nearby floors. A large inflatable bag is set up on the ground on one side of the building. A Fire Department helicopter is hovering overhead.

A woman who works across the street from the building told 1010 WINS she was told by her employer not to come to work this morning because of the activity.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
