Report: Alleged Mobster With Bonanno Ties Survives Bronx Hit

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A reputed mobster dodged a hit outside of his Bronx home Wednesday morning.

Salvatore 'Sally Daz' Zottola a reputed gangster said to be linked to the Bonanno family, was shot just before 7 a.m. the Daily News reports.

Zottola was struck in the chest and right hand on Tierney Place near Longstreet Ave in Pelham Bay. The gunman was ushered from the scene in a waiting car.

Zottola was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in serious but stable condition.

Law enforcement sources told the Daily News that Zottola is an associate of former Bonanno family boss Vinny 'Gorgeous' Basciano who is currently serving a life sentence.
