NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is slamming a Republic super PAC after it released an ad during the Democratic debate that showed her image burning in flames.

In the ad from New Faces GOP, AOC bursts into flames as narrator Elizabeth Heng says, “This is the face of socialism and ignorance.”

Heng is a California conservative who created the PAC. She asks if AOC knows “the horror of socialism” as images of a death camp in Cambodia flash by the screen.

“My father was minutes from death in Cambodia before a forced marriage saved his life,” Heng says. “That’s socialism: forced obedience, starvation.”

“Mine is a face of freedom, my skin is not white, I’m not outrageous, racist, nor socialist. I’m a Republican,” she says.

AOC, who represents parts of Queens and the Bronx, tweeted multiple responses on Twitter, including one that said the ad was targeting white supremacists.

“Republicans are running TV ads setting pictures of me on fire to convince people they aren’t racist. Life is weird!” she wrote.

“Know that this wasn’t an ad for young conservatives of color - that was the pretense. What you just watched was a love letter to the GOP’s white supremacist case,” she continued.

#BoycottABC and #BoycottSinclair were trending Friday as Twitter users called for a boycott of ABC and Sinclair Broadcasting, the largest owner of television stations in the U.S., for airing the ad.

“America slammed you @ABCNetwork for running a Pro-Trump ad with an image of a Congresswoman’s face burning,” Nancy Pelosi’s daughter, Christine Pelosi, tweeted.
