NEW YORK (WFAN) -- Prosecutors in South Florida have dropped the felony charges against Jets wide receiver Robby Anderson in connection with his January arrest, according to multiple reports.

Police in Sunrise, Florida, alleged that in the early-morning hours of Jan. 19, Anderson, 24, drove his Jaguar 105 mph in a 45-mph zone, failed to stay in a single lane and did not immediately pull over for police. He later told the arresting officer that he was going to find his wife and sexually assault her, cops said.

Anderson faced nine charges, including second-degree felony harm to a public servant or family, third-degree felony fleeing/eluding police while lights/siren active and third-degree felony speeding.

But a Broward County State Attorney spokesperson said Tuesday that Anderson now faces only one misdemeanor count of reckless driving. The downgraded charges were "due to a possible discrepancy regarding the initial estimated speed, but there is no doubt that the defendant was driving recklessly," the spokesperson said in a statement to

Other charges against Anderson were declined due to insufficident evidence, authorities said.

Anderson pleaded not guilty to all charges in January. He is due back in court this summer, the Daily News reported.

He also still faces felony charges from a May arrest. In that case, he is accused of pushing a police officer and fighting with security after being asked to leave a Miami concert festival.

Anderson enjoyed a breakout season with the Jets in 2017, his second year in the NFL. He had 63 receptions for a team-leading 941 yards and seven touchdowns.
