Defense Attorney Ben Brafman said the DA's office has officially closed its investigation, and that he isn't surprised in the least.

“Had they listened to me early on, it would have saved the District Attorney a lot of time and money,” Brafman said.

The reports say prosecutors found no evidence that Weinstein illegally funneled funds from his companies to pay hush money to women who accused him of sexual assault.

“I have been explaining to them for almost a year that this inquiry was a mindless voyage as Mr Weinstein never defrauded any company or person and always paid his own bills, or after the fact, by agreement, reimbursed the company for any personal expense,” Brafman said.

The DA's office has brought an indictment against Weinstein on chargesof predatory sexual assault, rape, and criminal sex acts relating to two women.

Charges in the case of a third woman were dropped.
