Report: Trump Asks Ryan To Back Off On Gateway Tunnel Funds

March 03, 2018 - 11:26 am

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The Obama administration made a new rail tunnel under the Hudson, America's number one infrastructure priority.

Now, President Trump is reportedly pressing congressional Republicans to back off from paying for part of it.

He could be playing politics to get back at Democratic leader, New York Senator Chuck Schumer. The New York Times reports the president is urging House Speaker Paul Ryan not to support funding for the $30-billion project.
