FLORENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ (1010 WINS) -- Prosecutors say they will announce new developments in the infamous 'Go Fund Me' case of a homeless man who helped a driver, and was rewarded with a Go Fund Me started by the woman and her boyfriend.

Prosecutors weren't saying much more than that on Thursday morning.

The happy story began to crack when Johnny Bobbit accused Mark D'Amico and his girlfriend Kate McClure of stealing his money to fund lavish trips to Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, and New York City.

Law enforcement zeroed in on the couple in recent months, raiding their home and towing their car -- an arrest seemed imminent.

On Thursday morning, a bombshell report came out that authorities believe the whole thing was a ruse, a get rich quick scheme concocted by all three of them.
