Report: Teenage girl arrested for grand larceny gives cops the slip in the Bronx

November 13, 2018 - 11:35 am

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Tuesday night's hunt for an escaped suspect in the Bronx wasn't a 'manhunt' it was a hunt for a 15-year-old grand larceny suspect.

Police sources tell the Daily News she was wearing handcuffs when she made a run for it near Taft High School in the Claremont section, just blocks from the 44th precinct stationhouse.

“She looked like a regular, ordinary girl, but scared,” a witness said, “She ran right down the street, and then there were all these cops. You’d think it was a homicide or something.”

The search included K9 units, an NYPD helicopter, and Emergency Services Unit officers, but so far she remains at large.
