Report: New York Archdiocese paid abuse victims nearly $60 million over 2 years

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- It appears like the Archdiocese of New York has had to dig deep to make compensation payments to victims of priest sex abuse.

A diocese spokesman told the New York Post that over the last two years, they've paid a total of 278 sex abuse victims just under $60 million.

The revelation comes on the heels of a Pennsylvania grand jury report, finding that more than 300 priests had abused more than a thousand children, all while being shielded by church officials.
