Report: Man pulls machete during Westchester road-rage spat

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. (1010 WINS) – A man apparently pulled out a machete as he fought with another man on a busy highway in Westchester Tuesday morning.

Video obtained by ABC7 shows two men arguing, and one of them appears to be holding a machete.

At one point in the video, the man appears to swing the weapon and a clanking sound can be heard.

The altercation unfolded in North Salem around 8 a.m. near the Exit 8 ramp of I-684, according to ABC7.

A witness told ABC7 that the road-rage incident was sparked by a car cutting off a fuel truck. He said the driver of the car was the one swinging the machete.

Video of the encounter posted online was recorded by another truck driver, according to ABC7.

That driver said he went to help his fellow truck driver and that the man with the machete “was threatening, said he was going to kill us.

An off-duty cop who was driving by intervened and was able to take the machete-wielding man into custody, according to ABC7.
