Despite Remaining On Ballot, Crowley Insists He Won't Run Against Ocasio-Cortez

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Queens congressman Joe Crowley is talking about his upset loss in the Democratic primary a couple weeks ago to progressive challenger Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

On CBS Face The Nation, Crowley said if he could run the race over again he would do a better job of campaigning.

"I have to take the responsibility for that, I did not do as I preach. I talk about all politics being local, I remind folks about my accomplishments, I didn't talk about what I had done to help people in my district," he said.

Crowley is in the middle of his 10th term in congress and was seen by many as a possible future speaker of the house.

Technically he's still on the ballot under the Working Families Party, but has insisted that he's not running, and has thrown his support behind Ocasio-Cortez.
