It happened at a Duane Reade on 60th Street and Roosevelt Ave in Woodside.

"I feel very badly, human life is precious," Pat Marsh said, "Oh I see the blood, this is horrific."

The 49-year-old victim was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital in critical condition.

"I think we're going to need more cameras and police officers, especially if this is a 24 hour Duane Reade. The employees there shouldn't have to live in fear."

The gunman took off before cops arrived, but they say he wasn't done.

Just 15 minutes after the shooting he held up a 7-Eleven on Northern Boulevard, and then hit a Rite Aid on 30th Ave in Astoria and took $800 at gunpoint.
