President Trump invokes executive privilege over unredacted Mueller Report

May 08, 2019 - 10:42 am

WASHINGTON (1010 WINS) -- President Donald Trump has invoked executive privilege over the unredacted Mueller Report and other materials subpoenaed by House Democrats.

The House Judiciary Committee has convened and Chairman Rep Jerry Nadler says the president is again obstructing justice.

"The administration has announced loud and clear that it does not recognize Congress as a coequal branch of government with independent constitutional oversight authority, and it will continue to wage its campaign of obstruction. When the administration says it will oppose all subpoenas, presumably regardless of its merits, it is saying it does not recognize Congress having a constitutional oversight authority over the executive branch," he said.

Nadler also blasted Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for saying the Russia probe is 'case closed', and accused him and others of aiding and abetting the administration in its obstruction.
