NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- New technology to detect bombs, guns, and other weapons is being tried out at the World Trade Center PATH station.

It's called Evolve Edge, a high tech body scanning unit where up to 600 people an hour can walk through -- explosives and weapons are immediately detected. The Port Authority has asked the public to test the new technology voluntarily.

Greg was happy to do so.

"If it's efficient, if it's easy, it's not disruptive," he said.

The PA hopes to make it permanent in places like the World Trade Center where 250,000 commuters a day pass through.
