Poll shows Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez underwater nationally

March 29, 2019 - 10:06 am

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) A national Quinnipiac poll found New York freshman congresswoman and liberal icon Alexandria Oscaio-Cortez with a negative 23-36 percent favorability rating, with 38 percent who haven’t heard enough about her to form an opinion.

"All is definitely not A-OK for AOC. Most voters either don't like the firebrand freshman Congresswoman or don't know who she is," Quinnipiac University Poll Assistant Director Tim Malloy said.

The poll also found that among Democrats, former Vice President Joe Biden is leading the early race for the 2020 presidential nomination with 29 percent, followed by U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders with 19 percent and former U.S. Rep. Beto O’Rourke with 12 percent.

More than half of voters, 53 percent, say they will definitely not vote for President Donald Trump in the 2020 general election if he is the Republican candidate.
