NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Plenty of seniors are staying sexually active.

That's according to the University of Michigan National Poll on Healthy Aging.

The poll found that 54 percent of seniors in committed relationships are sexually active.

"Sexual health among older adults doesn't get much attention but is linked closely to quality of life, health and well-being," co-associate director of the poll, Erica Solway, said.

Just over 1,000 seniors were polled at the end of 2017. Among the 65 to 70 age group, 46 percent of those polled said they were currently sexually active, in the 76 to 80 group only 25 percent of respondents said the same.

The poll also found men to be more interested in sex, and that many seniors do not discuss the subject with their doctors, the Daily News reports.
