WANTED: Man who followed woman, 26, into her Park Slope building and attempted to rape her

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man who followed a 26-year-old woman into the vestibule of her Park Slope apartment building and attempted to rape her, is being sought by the NYPD.

The incident took place Sunday around 4:30 a.m. near Garfield Place and Prospect Park West.

Police said in a press release that the victim ":was entering the vestibule of her residential building when an unidentified male followed her through an open door. Once inside, the unidentified male exposed himself and grabbed the victim's waist trying to prevent her from entering further into the building. The victim struggled and the unidentified male fled on foot eastbound towards Prospect Park West."

There were no injuries.

The unidentified individual is described as a black man, approximately 5'10" to 6'2" tall, with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.
