Police searching for suspects in violent late-night Lower East Side robberies

Suspect in Lower East Side robberies



NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police released surveillance photos Monday night of suspects wanted in a series of violent late-night Manhattan robberies over the last month.


Police say the robbers have struck at least seven times, predominantly in the Lower East Side.


The first incident occurred at about 3 a.m. on Aug. 24, when a man, 27, was approached by four men who struck his head and body, causing him to lose consciousness.

When he came to, his wallet and jewelry were missing, worth about $3,000, say authorities.

Two of the incidents involved four male suspects, while the remaining five saw two men approach the victims.

The three most recent incidents all occurred early in the morning on Sep. 7.

Two 23-year-old men and a 31-year old men were robbed by two men, with the robbers attacking the 31-year-old, causing him to be transferred to Bellevue Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police say.

The individuals are described as black men between 20 and 30 in age.
