NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are looking for two men who tried to kidnap two little girls on Long Island on Tuesday.

The suspects approached the 8 year old girls at around 5 p.m. as they played in the yard of a home on Maple Place, police said. The men pushed one girl and she hit her face.
The second girl screamed and kicked him.

She wasn't hurt.

"Both subjects are described as males, approximately 5'10 to 6' tall, dark skinned and both having beards. Both were wearing yellow pants and blue t-shirts," Det. Lt. Richard LeBrun said.

One man took off in a car, the other ran.

Neighbor Laura DiGregorious said she couldn't believe it.

"Somebody could have carried them away so quickly. This is horrifying," she said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
