NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police released a shocking video showing a gunman shoot and kill a man on a Bronx street corner.

The video shows 31-year-old Richard Cepeda’s final moments as he met his killer in the lobby of a building on the Grand Concourse in the Fordham Heights section of the Bronx at approximately 9:40 p.m. on Thursday, police said.

Police suspect the attack was a drug deal gone awry.

Cepeda handed something to the man, who then pulled a gun on him.

The footage released by authorites shows Cepeda sitting in a blue lawn chair when the gunman, wearing a white shirt and a gold durag, walked up to him and pulled out a gun.

Grabbing something out of Cepeda’s hand the gunman forced him into a vestibule at gunpoint where a second man was waiting.

Police say Cepeda tried to run out of the lobby, but a second male punched him in the face and tried to prevent him from leaving the building.

Cepeda ran off into the pouring rain, followed closely by both suspects.

The shooter shot Cepeda in the back as he ran on the sidewalk.

EMS removed the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The two suspects fled the scene on foot northbound on Grand Concourse.

Police ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577 - 8477.

An investigation is ongoing.
