NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police have recaptured a state prisoner who escaped from parole custody in Queens Tuesday morning.

82-50 135th Street 8:23:44 AM EDT

Johensal Martetejada, 29, was in the custody of the Department of Corrections and Community when he escaped in the Briarwood neighborhood around 135th Street and 82nd Drive at about 8:15 a.m..

Police recaptured him at about 9:15 a.m.

Martetejada was arrested for failing to return to court for an assault case.
