Police: Men slash victim, start shooting during argument at Queens playground

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A fight at a playground in Queens ended when two suspects slashed a man and started shooting, police said.

The 23-year-old victim was watching a baseball game when he got into an argument with a group of six people at the Dutch Kills Playground in Astoria on Friday evening, according to police.

One of the people in the group took a box cutter and slashed the 23-year-old across the face, injuring his right eye, police said.

Then a second suspect pulled a gun and started shooting into the playground, according to police.

The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in Queens, where he was listed in stable condition.

No other injuries were reported.

The two suspects fled the scene and were last seen near 37th Avenue and 30th Street.

Police released video of the two of them on Saturday.
