TONAWANDA, N.Y. (AP) -- Authorities in upstate New York say a man set a woman on fire outside a coffee shop.

Police in the city of Tonawanda say the man contacted his 25-year-old girlfriend, who works at the Tim Hortons, and told her to come outside Monday afternoon. Authorities say the man then doused her in flammable liquid and set her on fire.

Police say the man also set himself on fire by accident. Both were taken to a hospital with serious and potentially life-threatening injuries.

Officials say they are investigating it as a domestic violence case involving child custody. Police say they expect to charge the man with attempted murder.

Police Tuesday didn't identify either person, but relatives of the woman identified her as Jessica Cameron, a mother of three.
