The first attack was at the Beauty and Nail Salon on Fairview Avenue in Ridgewood on Saturday morning, police said.

The man attempted to pay for services with a counterfeit $100, according to police.

When a 52-year-old worker refused to accept the bill, the man assaulted her and stole three cell phones, $200 and a camera receiver, police said.

When a 39-year-old worker confronted the man about the bill, he grabbed her by the neck and stole two cell phones, police said.

Neither of the women were seriously injured in the attacks.
