NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for two men seen in surveillance video released Tuesday night accused of taking a dog on a Brooklyn street.

Bre Kelly, 21, reported leaving her terrier mix dog named Theo on a leash when she went into a grocery store on the corner of Humboldt Street and Flushing Ave. in Williamsburg at about 9:00 p.m. on Monday.

When she came back from Green Corner Fish and Farmers Market, Theo was gone and the leash remained at the location.

Police are searching for two unidentified thieves.

The video shows a man in a blue shirt taking the dog off the leash, and then picking it up.

"I've had him 10 and a half years, through six different houses, through divorce and college," Kelly said to NBC4. "I just want him home quickly and safely, that's all I want."

Kelly left flyers in the neighborhood urging people to call if they see the missing dog.

Anyone with information is urged to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
